Osteopathy
Every person has self-healing powers within them. The intention of osteopathy is to recognise these forces and activate them in a targeted manner. During the treatment, we work together to find the pieces of the puzzle that can help your body find balance – gently, mindfully and in harmony with your needs.
In osteopathic work, you take centre stage – with all your individual experiences, strengths and resources. Body, mind and psyche form an inseparable unit whose interaction is crucial for health and well-being.
Especially during pregnancy, the female body undergoes profound changes. If symptoms occur, this is often an indication that the inner balance is disturbed. Osteopathy can provide gentle support during this special time: It strengthens self-regulation, relieves tension and helps the body to prepare naturally for the birth. Particularly in the last trimester of pregnancy, the focus is often on the pelvis and pelvic floor – targeted treatment can effectively accompany the physical and emotional preparation for the birth.
Osteopathy also promotes regeneration after the birth, by bringing the pelvic floor, organs and spine back into balance and supporting you in returning to yourself after the intensive phase surrounding the birth.
Osteopathy can help with a variety of gynaecological problems, such as cycle-related symptoms, PMS, menstrual pain and irregular cycles. It promotes blood flow to the uterus and optimises pelvic function, which is particularly helpful if you want to have children. Osteopathy can also release blockages and support the healing process in cases of endometriosis or menopausal symptoms.
Osteopathy has a beneficial and regulating effect not only on gynaecological symptoms, but also on jaw joint problems, back pain, tension and gastrointestinal symptoms.
Teresa Wilfing, osteopath and physiotherapist at med4women, will be happy to accompany you on this journey.

Physiotherapy
Gynaecological complaints or the time after an operation often place particular demands on the body – and can be associated with restrictions in the everyday lives of many women. In such cases, physiotherapy is an effective and targeted supportive measure.
Customised therapy can provide noticeable relief, particularly in the case of problems with the pelvic floor or bladder – such as incontinence, pain or organ prolapse. Physiotherapy can also help to alleviate physical discomfort during pregnancy and prepare the body for the birth. After the birth it supports the recovery process, in particular the regeneration of the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles (rectus diastasis).
Elena Herics, BSc and Sylvette Schreiber, BSc (currently on maternity leave) – physiotherapists at med4women – specialise in gynaecology. They take the time to work with you to determine individual therapy goals after a detailed medical history and in a trusting atmosphere. The treatment is characterised by an attentive view of the physical and emotional needs of each patient.
